Layne Johnson
With more than 225,000 followers on social media and hundreds more students in his online school, Layne Johnson is a very popular artist and painting instructor. An award winning lifelong painter and professional artist, his career includes graphic designer, illustrator, children’s book artist and fine art painter. These days he’s best known for his expansive and dramatic cloudscape oil paintings.
Layne’s work has been described as a blend of Luminism and Classical Realism plus a touch of American Impressionism – all with a Texas point of view.
His work hangs in numerous private and corporate collections and is available at The Good Art Company in Fredericksburg, TX, and Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, TX. He’s also a member of Oil Painters of America, National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society, and Artists of Texas.
After a lifetime of big city life, Layne now maintains his studio, home and mini-farm in the woodlands of east Texas, where he can soak up the landscape right outside his studio door.
